CANAYA is proud to present the 50-Hour Registered Aerial Yoga Teacher (RAYT-50) Training Standard, designed to set the benchmark for professional aerial yoga instruction across Canada.  This comprehensive program provides aspiring instructors with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to safely and effectively guide students of all levels in aerial yoga practice.

Program Overview
The RAYT-50 curriculum integrates foundational knowledge, anatomy, equipment safety, pedagogy, hands-on practice, and teaching experience. Through 50 hours of structured learning, trainees develop a deep understanding of the principles of aerial yoga, safe rigging practices, and effective class management. Each module balances theory with practical application, ensuring instructors are fully prepared to lead dynamic, inclusive, and safe aerial yoga classes.


Key Features of the Standard

Foundations & Ethics: Explore the history, philosophy, and professional ethics of aerial yoga, emphasizing trauma-informed teaching and student safety.

Anatomy & Physiology: Gain comprehensive knowledge of the human body, including spinal mechanics, joint mobility, muscle engagement, and inversion physiology to prevent injuries and optimize practice.

Equipment & Safety: Master the proper use, rigging, and inspection of aerial yoga equipment, with clear protocols for emergency response and liability awareness.

Pedagogy & Teaching Techniques: Learn effective cueing, sequencing, class flow, and adaptations for all levels and special populations.

Hands-On Skills: Intensive practice of aerial yoga poses, modifications, spotting, and use of props to ensure confident teaching.

Practicum & Assessment: Demonstrate your competency through supervised teaching, peer feedback, and a written exam, culminating in certification readiness.
